claude.ai web: "How is Claude doing this session?" banner keeps reappearing over the composer with no way to turn it off
Surface: claude.ai web chat (Projects chat, Opus 5.5), not the CLI. CLI-only template fields: not applicable.
What happens: A "How is Claude doing this session? Bad / Fine / Good / X" card appears directly above the reply box, covering the bottom of the transcript. It comes back in later sessions after being dismissed, so the user has to close it again and again.
Why it is a bug, not just taste:
- It covers conversation content (the last lines of the reply are hidden behind it).
- Dismissing it is not remembered as a preference, so X is a recurring chore.
- There is no setting in claude.ai to opt out. Users who want to give feedback already have the thumbs-down button and Get help.
Expected: A setting to turn the session survey off permanently, or at minimum dismissal that sticks for the account.
Related: #94710 and #101024 (desktop app / Code tab, same survey, no way to disable) and #93393 (feature request for an opt-out). This one is the claude.ai web chat case, which none of those cover.
