claude.ai web: Progress / task-list side panel reopens on every task, even after the user closes it

On claude.ai (cloud sessions), the "Progress" panel ("Step 1 of 1", task list plus "Used in this session") pops open every time the agent creates or updates a task list. Closing it with the X does not keep it closed; it reappears on the next update.
Expected: once a user closes it, it stays closed for that session (and ideally a setting to keep it closed by default). The "Step N of N" button at the top already gives access on demand.
