Environment
- Claude Desktop 2.26454.0.0 (MSIX), Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (10.0.22631)
- Two 1920×1080 monitors at 100% scaling; app window maximized (1936×1048 incl. borders)
- In-app zoom level 0.5 (≈110%) persisted in
%APPDATA%\Claude\Preferences
What happens
While a Code session runs computer use (mcp__computer-use__*), the left sidebar collapses. After computer use ends, it stays collapsed even though the window is maximized and has plenty of room. It happens on every computer-use run.
Asking the app to expand it via mcp__ccd_window__set_sidebar_collapsed(false) while the window is maximized and no side panes are open is refused with:
Refused: the window is too narrow (or docked) to show the sidebar, so it stays collapsed.
Changing the zoom from the View menu doesn't help.
Expected
- The sidebar returns to its previous state once computer use ends.
- A maximized 1920 px window isn't treated as "too narrow or docked".
- Ideally, a setting to keep the sidebar pinned open.
