In our setup CLAUDE_CODE_SKIP_PROMPT_HISTORY=1 is set deliberately for every session launched by our launcher (we distribute agent prompts to members and do not want transcripts persisted on their machines). So the line is shown permanently, in every session, and reads as "your configuration is broken" — it is visually noisy and alarming for non-technical users who are told it is intended.

Why it matters

We run many agents on members' machines with this variable set intentionally. Every one of them shows a permanent warning that looks like a misconfiguration. A neutral indicator (like bypass permissions) would communicate the same state without alarming users.
