/resume command does not show sessions from current day (2025-10-20)

Description

The /resume command is not displaying any chat sessions from the current day (2025-10-20), even though they are correctly saved in ~/.claude/history.jsonl. Only sessions from the previous day (2025-10-19) are visible in the resume list.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Use Claude Code normally throughout the day
  2. Complete multiple chat sessions (verified in ~/.claude/history.jsonl)
  3. Run /resume command
  4. Observe that only sessions from 2025-10-19 are shown, but none from 2025-10-20

Expected Behavior

All saved sessions from ~/.claude/history.jsonl should be visible in /resume, including sessions from the current day.

Actual Behavior

/resume only shows sessions up to 2025-10-19 23:47:00, but hides all 7 sessions from 2025-10-20:

Missing Sessions (present in history.jsonl but NOT in /resume):

  • ✗ 2025-10-20 00:08:25 - "Danke sehr gut! Unbedingt Option A Mit technischer Vorbereit..."
  • ✗ 2025-10-20 00:16:21 - "Danke jedoch habe ich das gefühl du hast mittendrin gestoppt..."
  • ✗ 2025-10-20 00:25:30 - ">Danke aber die hooks sollten nach │ ├── hooks/..."
  • ✗ 2025-10-20 00:37:20 - "Super aber kein Push bei Änderungen der @_docs/FILE-TREE-ALI..."
  • ✗ 2025-10-20 00:52:58 - "Super ja bitte gerne so starten aber bitte in die todos aufn..."
  • ✗ 2025-10-20 01:02:43 - "Super Danke nein eine Übersicht ist nicht notwendig. Phase 7..."
  • ✗ 2025-10-20 18:59:29 - "Hi Claude, es ist aktuell ganz komisch. wenn ich /resume kli..."

Last Visible Sessions (shown correctly in /resume):

  • ✓ 2025-10-19 23:28:47 - "Klasse vielen dank! bitte helfe mir bei Nächste Schritte:..."
  • ✓ 2025-10-19 23:32:19 - "ich habe ihn zu github in meinem profil hinzugefügt! aber eb..."
  • ✓ 2025-10-19 23:47:00 - "Danke ich habe den prod push abgebrochen, das will ich nicht..."

Verification

Sessions are correctly saved in history file:

\\\`bash
$ stat -c "%y" ~/.claude/history.jsonl
2025-10-20 18:59:29.481433774 +0000

$ wc -l ~/.claude/history.jsonl
4493 /home/albeyo-web/.claude/history.jsonl

$ tail -10 ~/.claude/history.jsonl | jq -r '.timestamp'

Shows timestamps including 1760919569000 (2025-10-20 18:59:29)

\\\`

Environment

  • Claude Code Version: 2.0.23
  • OS: Linux (Debian 13)
  • Kernel: 6.12.48+deb13-cloud-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC
  • Platform: x86_64
  • History File: ~/.claude/history.jsonl (4493 entries, last modified 2025-10-20 18:59:29)

Additional Context

  • The history.jsonl file is being updated correctly (verified file modification time)
  • Debug logs in ~/.claude/debug/ show sessions were created (timestamps match)
  • No error messages or warnings visible
  • This appears to be a date-filtering issue in the /resume command's display logic
  • Possible hypothesis: Date comparison bug where current day sessions are filtered out

Workaround

None currently available - users cannot access their sessions from the current day via /resume.

Impact

Medium - Users lose access to their current day's work history and cannot resume recent sessions, breaking the workflow continuity.
