[BUG] Remote Control push notifications on iOS still arrive without sound or vibration (same as #53709, closed as fixed)
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues. The same problem was reported in #53709, which was closed as fixed and is now locked; its lock message asks for a new issue that references it.
- [x] This is a single bug report
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Push notifications that Claude Code sends to the Claude iPhone app through Remote Control (the PushNotification tool) show up in Notification Center, but they arrive silently: no sound and no vibration.
This is the same symptom as #53709 ("Remote Control push notifications have no sound or vibration on iOS"). That issue was closed as fixed on 2026-05-26 and locked on 2026-07-23, so I can't comment on it, but the problem is still happening for me.
What Should Happen?
The notification should play the alert sound and vibrate, as notifications from other apps do with the same iOS settings.
Error Messages/Logs
No error. The tool reports success: "Terminal notification sent. Mobile push requested."
Example push: 2026-10-05, around 19:47 UTC.
Steps to Reproduce
- Run Claude Code on macOS with Remote Control connected to the Claude app on an iPhone.
- Have Claude send a push notification, for example by asking it to notify you when a long-running task finishes (it calls
PushNotification). - The notification appears on the iPhone with no sound and no vibration.
iOS settings for the Claude app: notifications allowed, Sounds and Banners on, no Focus mode active, and Claude not included in Scheduled Summary.
Claude Model
Opus
Is this a regression?
I don't know. It was reported before in #53709 and closed as fixed.

Additional Information
- iPhone: iOS 27.0.1. Claude iOS app: the latest version as of 2026-10-05.
- #53709 suggested the APNs payload is sent without
sound, which would make the notification silent whatever the iOS settings are.
