Feedback first

The Claude mobile app has gotten really good lately: smooth, clean, and the upgraded Chinese TTS for read-aloud is a big improvement. Dispatch, which I used to find not very useful, now feels pleasant to use, and merging Chat and Work into one place is much more convenient. Thanks to the team!

The problem

Dispatch (and remote features in general) currently depend on a desktop computer that is turned on and kept running. Many people don't keep their computer on all day, and some people don't own a desktop/laptop at all — their phone is their main device. For them, Dispatch effectively doesn't work when they need it.

An always-on VPS / cloud server is the natural fix: it's cheap, always online, and many developers already have one. But today the mobile app can't really use it as a Dispatch target.

Request

Better mobile support for VPS / headless Linux servers in Dispatch (or other remote features):

  • Register a headless Linux host (e.g. running the claude CLI on a VPS) as a Dispatch target
  • Pick that host from the mobile app when dispatching a task
  • See its sessions, status and results on mobile, the same as desktop targets
  • Keep it working reliably without any desktop machine being online

This would make Claude mobile truly "work from anywhere", independent of whether a personal computer is on.
