What were you trying to do?
Restore Claude GitHub App access (cloud sessions) for my organization's repositories after two renames:
- I renamed my GitHub organization (old name -> new name).
- A day later I renamed my personal account to the organization's OLD name.
On GitHub both installations are healthy and correctly scoped (verified on each installation's Configure page).
What happened instead?
The GitHub Integration page still lists the installations under their pre-rename names (my old username as "Personal", and the org's old name as "Organization").
"Check repository status":
- a repository on my personal account: works
- any repository in the renamed organization: "The Claude GitHub App for <new org name> needs to be reconnected"
Tried, none fixed it:
- "Fix"
- "Re-link GitHub" (the success page correctly listed both new names)
- "Reconnect GitHub App": opens my PERSONAL installation, apparently because the record still keys the org installation by the old org name, which now belongs to my user account
- "Install on another account" > the org > Configure > Save with a real repository change (the redirect returned to claude.ai)
I have not tried Disconnect, to avoid losing Project sync settings. Please re-key the org installation record. Report code is in Diagnostics.
