Problem Statement

From Adam Smith, Director, Continuity AI Ltd (PennyPA)

We run Claude through the Claude desktop app (Cowork), which drives Chrome for client work. Even with "Skip all approvals" set, every new website triggers an Allow once / Deny / Always allow prompt. Someone has to sit there clicking through each one, which defeats the point of an autonomous agent.

Using the Chrome side panel instead isn't an option: our work involves legal matters, and the full conversation history must stay in the desktop task.

Frankly, it's ridiculous that the one setting meant to stop approvals doesn't apply when the desktop app drives Chrome. This is blocking real business use.

The earlier requests for this (#36767, #16613) were auto-closed by the bot and locked, so this is a fresh report as GitHub advises.

Proposed Solution

Please add one of:

  • an "allow all sites" option for desktop-driven Chrome sessions (honouring "Skip all approvals"), or
  • wildcard site approvals (e.g. *.gov.uk, [*.]domain.com).
