Read-aloud in Claude Code (desktop): option to read only the final answer

When I press the read-aloud button in the Code tab of the desktop app (macOS), it reads from the last incoming message onward. That includes every intermediate comment Claude writes between tool calls ("Now I'm checking …"), not just the final result. During longer tasks this means listening to the whole working log before reaching the answer. That makes read-aloud hard to use hands-free, e.g. while driving.

Request: a setting or second button that reads only the final text block of the last turn (the text after the last tool call).

What I tested as a workaround: chapter markers, background-command completions and self-scheduled cron prompts do not start a new read-aloud segment. Only a user message, a cross-session message or a subagent hand-back does. The only working workaround is spawning a throwaway subagent before the final answer, which costs about 44k tokens and 16 seconds each time.
