[BUG] Cowork (macOS): folder attached to a scheduled task is not mounted when the task fires - device_bash reports no connected folders
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
A scheduled task bound to my Mac (requires_local_device=true) has a folder attached (~/Documents/Claude). The trigger's derived_state lists the folder, and each run's session starts with a system reminder saying the folder is connected. But inside the run, device_bash fails with:
No folders are connected to this device for the current session. Call device_request_folder_access with the folder you need...
and get_device_info returns connectedFolders: [].
Seen on three consecutive daily runs (28 Sep, 1 Oct, 2 Oct 2026). On 1 Oct I approved a device_request_folder_access prompt inside the run's session and the folder then mounted at ~/mnt/Claude, but that approval does not carry over: the next day's run was unmounted again. So an unattended run can never reach its attached folder.
What Should Happen?
When a scheduled task fires on the bound computer, every folder attached to the task should be mounted for that run's session (visible in get_device_info.connectedFolders and under $HOME/mnt/<folder> in device_bash), with no per-run approval prompt.
Error Messages/Logs
device_bash: No folders are connected to this device for the current session. Call device_request_folder_access with the folder you need (the user is asked to approve), or ask the user to add one with the "Add folder" button in the Claude desktop app on this device; then retry.
get_device_info: "connectedFolders": []
Steps to Reproduce
- In the Claude desktop app on macOS, create a scheduled task bound to this Mac (requires_local_device=true) and attach a folder, e.g. ~/Documents/Claude.
- Confirm list_triggers shows the folder in the task's derived_state.
- Let the task fire on schedule (or fire it manually) while the Mac is online.
- In the run, call get_device_info and run
ls $HOME/mnt/with device_bash. - connectedFolders is empty and device_bash says no folders are connected.
- Approve device_request_folder_access in that run: it mounts for that session only; the next run is unmounted again.

Is this a regression?

Last Working Version
_No response_
Claude Code Version
Claude desktop 2.19675.0 (Cowork scheduled task, not the CLI)
Platform
Anthropic API
Operating System
macOS
Terminal/Shell
Terminal.app (macOS)
Additional Information
Possibly related: #71307 (reserved Scheduled path overlapping ~/Documents/Claude blocks mounting) and #90506 (scheduled tasks intermittently fail to mount connected folders, Windows). Here it is macOS, arm64, Electron 44.4.3, and it fails on every run rather than intermittently. Workaround: the task reads the same files from Google Drive instead.
