Bug report: Claude started Remote Control in an unauthorized local folder and told it to search other folders

What happened
I asked Claude to read files in my local folder "入台" using Remote Control. Claude instead started a Remote Control session in a different, unrelated local folder ("实习") and instructed that session to search other locations on my computer (home directory, Desktop, Documents, Downloads). I never authorized access to those locations.

Context

• Project: "Taiwan Trip", with a local folder "入台" added as a context source. It contained my passport, enrollment letter, I-20, visa page and ID photo for a Taiwan entry permit application.
• Only two of those files (passport and enrollment letter) were actually available to the cloud session. Claude said the I-20 and photo were missing, and I then realized it could not read my local folder directly.
• I asked Claude to use Remote Control on my computer so it could work with the "入台" folder.

What happened (2026-10-01, UTC)

1. 04:02:40: I asked Claude to start Remote Control on my computer for this task.
2. Claude called list_devices. The only connected device was serving a different folder, "实习" (an unrelated internship folder). "入台" was not connected.
3. Claude did not stop or ask me. It called start_rc_session anyway, which targeted that device and the "实习" folder.
4. The brief Claude gave the session said: if the current folder is not "入台", search the home directory, Desktop, Documents and Downloads for a folder named "入台", then list and inspect the files. (It also said to read only and not modify anything.)
5. 04:02:53: I clicked Allow on the approval card, assuming it was for "入台". The session started in "实习". The card did not make it clear to me that it was a different folder.
6. 04:03:28: I noticed it was the wrong folder. Claude stopped the session at 04:03:33. The session never reported results back, so I don't know exactly what it read during that time.
