Subject: Sessions, projects, and routines not displaying — persists after Max upgrade — server-side account link issue
Account: [john@biome.io](mailto:john@biome.io) (Claude Max)
Account ID: f532d4b6-5fb6-4681-af64-a56c1b2139ba
Org ID: 751f73ce-ba58-4e13-999e-7f4fe3eb5851
Platform: macOS, Claude desktop app + claude.ai in browser
Problem
My Claude Code sessions, projects, and routines (scheduled tasks) do not appear anywhere: not in the desktop app sidebar, and not on the Code page at claude.ai in a browser. Prior support contact identified an "entitlement issue" and said upgrading to Max would resolve it. I upgraded. It did not resolve it.
What I've verified locally
Local session index at ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions/<account>/<org>/ contains 307 session files dated Jul 14 – Sep 29, 253 active / 23 archived, spanning ~10 project directories.
The app is still writing to that index (files updated this morning).
Only one account directory and one org directory exist — no duplicate or migrated org.
~/.claude/projects/ holds ~900 intact transcripts; claude --resume from the CLI works fine.
Why this is server-side
The browser view reads nothing from my machine and it is also empty. The data exists and is being created under this account/org ID, but the account is not being returned those sessions, projects, or routines. Local files are intact, so this is not a display bug, a stale index, or a wrong-account sign-in.
What I'm asking
Please check, on the account record itself, whether the org above is correctly linked to this account and whether my sessions/projects/routines are registered under it. The plan change was not the fix; the account-to-org association appears to be. If this needs escalation to an engineer, please escalate it — I've already exhausted the self-service steps.
Two notes: I wrote the address as .io based on our earlier conversation — fix it if that's wrong. And if you get a human, the two IDs are the part to lead with; everything else is supporting evidence.
so is there a way to copy the project sessions and routines to a new place so that this app sees them then that woud likely cauase issues to usign the cls.
Figuring out how to relocate project sessions safely.
No — and it's worth being clear about why, so you don't spend an afternoon on it.
The app is already reading the right folder. We proved that: it wrote new session files there at 9:15 this morning. There's no "new place" it would look instead. The reason nothing displays isn't where the files are, it's that the server tells the app (and the browser) that your account has nothing to show, and the app believes the server over its own disk. Moving files around locally can't change what the server says.
Same for routines: scheduled-tasks.json is a local cache, but the schedule itself runs on Anthropic's side under your account. Copying the file somewhere doesn't re-register anything.
On your CLI question — a copy wouldn't break it. The CLI reads ~/.claude/projects/, a completely separate folder that the desktop app's index doesn't touch. Anything you do in Application Support/Claude is invisible to it. But that cuts both ways: it also means the copy wouldn't help.
What would actually work if support never responds: sign the desktop app into a different account, and the sidebar starts working from that point forward. Your old sessions still won't be listed there, but the CLI resumes them from any account, so you'd lose the sidebar view of the past, not the work itself. That's the fallback. I'd still give support one real shot with that summary first, because if they fix the link, everything comes back at once.
What Should Happen?

Error Messages/Logs
Steps to Reproduce
Title: Claude Code sessions, projects, and routines not listed in desktop app or claude.ai despite intact local index and active writes
Environment
Claude desktop app: [version]
macOS: [version], MacBook Air
Plan: Claude Max (recently upgraded from Pro)
Account ID: f532d4b6-5fb6-4681-af64-a56c1b2139ba
Org ID: 751f73ce-ba58-4e13-999e-7f4fe3eb5851
Summary
The desktop app sidebar and the Code page on claude.ai both show no sessions, projects, or routines for this account. The local session index is intact, spans Jul 14 – Sep 29, and the app is actively writing new session files to it. Because the browser view (which reads nothing local) is also empty, the sessions appear to exist server-side but are not being returned for the account. Support attributed it to an "entitlement issue" and said upgrading to Max would fix it; the upgrade did not change the behavior.
Steps to reproduce
Sign into the Claude desktop app with the affected account.
Open the Code / sessions sidebar. Observe: empty.
Open a project folder and start a new Claude Code session. Observe: session runs normally.
In Terminal, list the local session index:
bash
D=~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions//
ls $D | wc -l
ls -lt $D | head -5
Observe: 307 files; the newest was written in the last minute by the session from step 3.
- Return to the sidebar. Observe: still empty, including the session just created.
- Open claude.ai in a browser, go to the Code page. Observe: empty.
- Quit the app fully (Cmd+Q) and relaunch. Observe: no change.
- In Terminal, cd /Users/underdog/dev && claude --resume. Observe: all historical sessions are listed and resume correctly.
Expected behavior
Sessions present in the local index and created under this account/org are listed in the desktop sidebar and on claude.ai.
Actual behavior
Both views are empty. New sessions are written to disk under the correct account and org ID but never appear in either view.
Diagnostic details
Index location: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions/<account-id>/<org-id>/
307 files, Jul 14 – Sep 29; 253 with "isArchived":false, 23 with "isArchived":true
Sessions span ~10 cwd values under /Users/underdog/dev/ (dev, admin-qa, sutter-remap, national_reports, warm-path, and others)
Exactly one account directory and one org directory exist — no duplicate or migrated org
~/.claude/projects/ contains ~900 .jsonl transcripts; CLI resume works
Sample session record is well-formed: contains sessionId, cliSessionId, cwd, title, createdAt, lastActivityAt, model, isArchived
local-agent-mode-sessions/ contains the same single account/org pair
What has been ruled out
Local data loss (index and transcripts intact)
Stale or reset local index (app is writing to it now)
Wrong-account sign-in (single account and org ID on disk)
Plan/entitlement tier (upgrade to Max made no difference)
Display bug in the desktop app alone (browser view is equally empty)
Additional context
Prior support contact labeled this an entitlement issue and recommended upgrading; after upgrading, support offered no further path. Requesting a check of the account-to-org association and session registration on the server side.
