What's Wrong?

Environment: Claude Desktop for Windows 11 (Code tab), Hebrew (RTL) user.

Problem:
The message input box is always left-to-right. When typing Hebrew:

  1. The caret and text are aligned to the left, and the prompt suggestion (ghost text) is also left-aligned.
  2. The standard Windows/Chromium direction shortcut (Ctrl + Right Shift) has no effect in the input box.
  3. If the box is aligned right-to-left, list markers created by the editor ("1.", "-") are pushed outside the box, a horizontal scrollbar appears and the numbers disappear.
  4. After sending, my message bubble is rendered left-to-right: a trailing "?" or "." jumps to the wrong side, and list numbers appear on the left instead of the right.

What Should Happen?

Expected:

  • The input box and my sent messages use dir="auto" (per paragraph), so Hebrew text is right-aligned with the caret on the right, like Claude's own

replies.
- List markers stay visible in RTL.
- Optionally, a setting to force RTL for the input box.

Steps to Reproduce

Workaround I currently use: an AutoHotkey script that inserts U+200F (Right-to-Left Mark) at the start/end of the message and after each Shift+Enter.

Thank you!
