Hebrew (RTL) text is displayed as LTR in Claude Code UI

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Mar 5, 2026 by pmk-76 Closed Apr 2, 2026

Description

When Claude responds in Hebrew (or other RTL languages), the text direction is left-to-right instead of right-to-left. This makes Hebrew text difficult to read in the Claude Code interface.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code
  2. Ask Claude to respond in Hebrew
  3. Observe that the Hebrew text is rendered LTR instead of RTL

Expected Behavior

Hebrew and other RTL language text should be displayed right-to-left.

Actual Behavior

All text is rendered left-to-right regardless of language direction.

Environment

  • Claude Code (Desktop app)
  • Windows 11 Pro
  • Claude Opus 4.6
