[Bug] Post-install plugin configure dialog: ←/→ still switch tabs instead of cycling userConfig options (2.1.284)
What's Wrong?
The "Configure <plugin>" dialog that opens automatically right after /plugin install (for a plugin whose manifest declares userConfig with options) still has the #97103 behaviour on 2.1.284: pressing ←/→ on an options field switches the tabs of the /plugin tab bar instead of cycling the field's value. The value cannot be changed there at all.
The 2.1.284 changelog says this was fixed ("←/→ change an options field instead of switching tabs"), and it is fixed on the other two screens that edit the same values:
/plugin→ Installed → the plugin → Configure options: ←/→ cycle the value./config: the value can be changed.
So the fix seems to cover those screens but not the dialog shown automatically after install, which is the one every new user of such a plugin sees first.
What Should Happen?
In the post-install configure dialog, ←/→ on a field with options should cycle that field's value, as they now do in /plugin → Configure options.
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a plugin whose
.claude-plugin/plugin.jsondeclares:
``json``
"userConfig": {
"github": {
"type": "string",
"title": "GitHub",
"description": "Let the plugin work with GitHub.",
"options": ["on", "off"],
"default": "on"
},
"gitlab": {
"type": "string",
"title": "GitLab",
"description": "Let the plugin work with GitLab.",
"options": ["on", "off"],
"default": "on"
}
}
- Add its marketplace and run
/plugin install <plugin>@<marketplace>. - The "Configure <plugin>" dialog opens with the first field focused. Press ← or →.
- The tab bar switches; the field's value stays
on. - For comparison, open
/plugin→ Installed → the plugin → Configure options and press ←/→ on the same field: the value changes.
Is this a regression?
No. It is the behaviour reported in #97103, which remains in the post-install dialog after the 2.1.284 fix.
