Environment: Claude desktop app, Linux (Ubuntu)

Bug

Changing the font in Settings to Sans Serif does not fully apply. The app appears to store two independent font preferences in its local Chromium LocalStorage (~/.config/Claude/Local Storage/leveldb):

  • customStyles:chatFont — controls the chat/message text font
  • interfaceFont — controls the surrounding UI chrome (sidebar, buttons, menus, labels), with a system fallback

After changing the font setting to Sans Serif, customStyles:chatFont was correctly updated to "sans", but interfaceFont remained stuck at "dyslexic". This suggests the Settings UI's font control only writes one of the two keys, leaving the other (interface chrome) on OpenDyslexic regardless of what's selected.

Expected: Selecting Sans Serif in Settings should update both the chat font and the interface font.

Actual: Only the chat font updates; the interface font stays on OpenDyslexic.

Repro:

  1. Open Settings → change font to Sans Serif (from OpenDyslexic)
  2. Restart the app
  3. Sidebar/menu/button text still renders in OpenDyslexic; only chat message text changes
