What's wrong
Running /usage in PyCharm's integrated terminal shows the usage progress bars for about a second, then they disappear. The same Claude Code version on the same machine renders them correctly in a separate system terminal (GNOME Terminal).
- Reproduces in both PyCharm terminal engines, Classic and Reworked.
- Reproduces with the terminal tool window maximised, so it is not the short-window layout problem from #61685.
- Reproduces on the latest PyCharm (2026.2.3). The IDE upgrade that fixed #82916 for one commenter does not help here.
Steps to reproduce
- Open PyCharm's integrated terminal (either engine) and maximise the tool window.
- Type
claudein the terminal (launched manually, not via the Claude Code plugin's button), then run/usage. - The bars appear briefly, then disappear.
Expected
Bars stay visible, as in a system terminal.
Environment
- Claude Code 2.1.283
- PyCharm 2026.2.3 (Build #PY-262.10968.92), JetBrains Runtime 25.0.4+1-b508.27
- Claude Code JetBrains plugin 0.1.14-beta
- Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS, GNOME Shell 46.0, X11 toolkit
- Shell: bash
