[BUG] : Folder picker in Code tab makes existing sessions look like they switched folders
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Steps:
- Open a new session in the Code tab and select Folder A.
- Open another new session and select Folder B.
- Go back to the first session.
Actual: The first session now appears to show Folder B. (Running pwd inside it confirms it still runs in Folder A, so only the UI is wrong.) If no message was sent yet in the first session, it really does switch to Folder B.
Expected: Eُach session should clearly show and keep its own folder. The folder picker should not affect other sessions, even ones that are still drafts.
Impact: Very confusing when working on several projects in parallel. It is easy to think a session is operating on the wrong folder.
Platform: Claude Desktop (Code tab), Linux/feedback
What Should Happen?
ُEُach session should clearly show and keep its own folder. The folder picker should not affect other sessions, even ones that are still drafts.
Error Messages/Logs
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Claude Desktop and go to the Code tab.
- Start a new session and select Folder A with the folder picker.
- Without sending a message, start another new session and select Folder B.
- Switch back to the first session.
- The first session now shows Folder B instead of Folder A.
Note: If a message was already sent in the first session, running pwd there still returns Folder A, so only the UI is wrong. If no message was sent yet (still a draft), the first session really does switch to Folder B.
