\/simplify\ exists as a real bundled skill in current Claude Code builds (confirmed present in the \claude\ binary strings, v2.1.283), with the tool description:
Review the changed code for reuse, simplification, efficiency, and altitude cleanups, then apply the fixes. Quality only — it does not hunt for bugs; use \/code-review\ for that.
However, it appears nowhere in official channels:
- Not in the Commands reference (which does list \
/code-review\, \/doctor\, \/batch\, \/debug\, \/loop\, etc.) - Not in the Skills docs bundled-skills table
- Not in the What's New weekly digest, through Week 37 (v2.1.263–v2.1.269)
- Not in \
CHANGELOG.md\(retains history back to v2.1.275) - Not in GitHub Releases notes, checked back through v2.1.246
Could you confirm whether \/simplify\ is an intentional silent/gated rollout, or a documentation gap that should be filled in (commands reference + a changelog entry)?
