Request
In the Claude desktop app (Code tab), when the final reply of a turn arrives, fold the assistant's interim messages (the text written between tool calls during the turn) into the collapsed tool group at the top of the turn, one click away, as the Codex app does.
Why
Interim messages are useful while the work runs: they tell the user what got done. After the turn ends they stay expanded above the final reply, so long turns bury the answer and split the collapsed tool groups into several pieces. There is no setting or transcript view (normal / thinking / verbose) that folds them.
Suggested behaviour
- While the turn runs: interim messages visible, as today.
- When the final reply arrives: interim messages move into the collapsed group ("Ran N commands…"), expandable with one click; only the final reply stays in view.
- Optional setting to keep today's behaviour.
