Environment: Claude Desktop, Code tab, Linux; embedded Claude Code 2.1.280; Claude for Linux Claude 2.2553.13 (16e20e) 2026-09-21T20:31:17.000Z
Steps to reproduce
- Click the microphone button in the composer and dictate; the interim transcript appears grey/italic.
- While dictation is still running, click Send. The interim text is sent as a message.
- Observe: the microphone stays active and recording continues.
- Click the microphone button to stop dictation.
Actual
- After step 4, the composer is filled with the entire transcript since recording started, including the part already sent in step 2.
- Workaround: switching to another session stops dictation without inserting anything.
Expected
- Sending ends the dictation, or starts a fresh transcript; text that was already sent is never re-inserted.
