Claude in Chrome: extension disconnects mid-batch during an extended attended session
Component: Claude in Chrome extension — connection/session stability
Summary: During an extended attended session driving multiple batched tool calls (navigate, click, read) against live pages, the extension disconnected partway through a batch, interrupting the in-progress calls.
Steps to reproduce: Not fully isolated — observed once during an extended multi-step batched session against several live business-web-app pages over roughly an hour of continuous use. Not independently reproduced in a later, shorter session that used smaller batches throughout.
Expected: The extension stays connected for the duration of an attended session.
Actual: One mid-batch disconnect occurred, interrupting the in-progress batch and requiring the task to rebuild its tab and session state afterward (compounded by the tab-group-orphaning behavior described in a separate report).
Impact: Interrupts in-flight work; when combined with a tab-group orphaning event, recovery can require rebuilding the whole task's tab state, not just retrying the one failed call.
Current workaround: keep batches of tool calls small, so a disconnect loses less in-flight work.
