Environment: Claude desktop app (Code tab), Windows 11, Claude in Chrome extension driving Brave, Max plan, Opus 5.5, bypass permissions on. Started with the Opus 5.5 release.
Summary: Delegated browser chores that previously completed end to end now dead-end repeatedly, even when the user explicitly authorizes each step.
What happened (2026-09-23): I asked Claude to list client businesses on free directories and explicitly approved Google sign-in and consent screens for the whole job.
- Popup sign-ins are unreachable. Bing Places' "Continue with Google", "Microsoft account" and "Continue with Facebook" all open popup windows outside the tab group Claude in Chrome controls. Claude can't see or click them, so the user has to complete each sign-in by hand.
- Sessions don't carry over. After I signed in to business.apple.com, Claude's tab still showed it signed out, and Apple's sign-in frame rendered blank.
- Auto-mode classifier false positive. Selecting "United States" in Bing Places' Country dropdown on the free "Add business" form was denied as
[Real-World Transactions]. - Account creation is a hard block even for businesses the user owns or manages and has authorized, so free directory listings (BBB, Yelp, etc.) can't be delegated.
- In-chat confirmation is required per session for OAuth consent, accepting terms and sending messages, even after the user has assigned the task. No setting, CLAUDE.md wording or permission mode can pre-authorize these.
Impact: A chore delegated to save time turned into hours of the user hand-holding the agent through sign-ins and confirmations.
Requests:
- Make popup and OAuth windows reachable by Claude in Chrome.
- Let the agent use existing sessions from the user's browser.
- Fix the classifier false positive on ordinary form fields like country pickers.
- Provide a durable, user-controlled way to pre-authorize consent screens and account creation for businesses the user owns or manages.
