[Bug] Auto-compact repeatedly re-reads same files instead of continuing from prior state

Bug Description
Auto-compact enters a repeated loop: after each compaction, the agent re-reads the exact same set of files (4 files, same paths) instead of continuing from where it left off. This happened 3 times in a row in one session, even after I explicitly told it in the prompt which files were already read/edited and told it not to re-read them. Error shown each time: "Autocompact is thrashing: the context refilled to the limit within 3 turns of the previous compact, 3 times in a row." CLI version: v2.1.280 Model: Sonnet 5, high effort Project: Next.js frontend + Android (Kotlin) app in same repo.
