Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

A Cowork task that belongs to a cloud Project is not listed in that Project's view in the iOS app.

The same task IS listed in:

  • Recents in the iOS app
  • The same Project's view in the macOS desktop app

So the session does reach mobile, and the task-to-project association is intact. Only the project-scoped listing in the iOS client is missing it.

What this rules out:

  • Session sync to mobile — the task appears in iOS Recents
  • Task-to-project association — the task appears in the macOS Project view
  • Project sync — the project's documents are readable on iOS

Context:

  • The task was started from the Claude desktop app on macOS with the computer linked (computer use and connected folders were in use).
  • The project is a cloud project, not a local-folder project. Its documents sync to iOS normally.
  • Desktop app 2.2553.1, macOS on Apple Silicon.
  • Observed 2026-09-21 through 2026-09-23.

Possibly related to #30691: before the session URL (https://claude.ai/code/session_...) was opened manually in mobile Safari, the task did not appear anywhere in the iOS app, including Recents. After opening that URL once, it appeared in Recents, but still not inside the Project.

Impact: work organized by Project cannot be picked up from the phone through the Project. You have to remember the task exists and hunt for it in Recents, which defeats the purpose of grouping by Project.

What Should Happen?

The iOS app's Project view should list the Cowork tasks that belong to that project, the same way the macOS desktop app does.

The help centre states that a task started at your desk shows up in Claude Mobile so you can see how it is going and redirect the work from anywhere, so the current behaviour appears to contradict the documented design.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. On macOS, open the Claude desktop app and create (or open) a cloud Project.
  2. Inside that Project, start a Cowork task with the computer linked (choose "Link to this computer"), so the task uses computer use / connected folders.
  3. Work in the task until it has several turns, then leave it.
  4. On macOS, open the Project — the task is listed there. Expected and correct.
  5. On iPhone, open the Claude app and go to Recents — the task is listed there too.
  6. On iPhone, open the same Project.

Result: the Project view on iOS shows the project's documents and chats, but the Cowork task from step 2 is not listed.

Note on step 5: in this case the task only started appearing in iOS Recents after the session URL was opened manually once in mobile Safari. Before that it appeared nowhere in the iOS app. It has never appeared inside the Project on iOS.

Claude Model

None

Is this a regression?

I don't know

Last Working Version

_No response_

Claude Code Version

N/A — this is Cowork in the Claude desktop app (version 2.2553.1), not the Claude Code CLI

Platform

Anthropic API

Operating System

macOS

Terminal/Shell

Terminal.app (macOS)

Additional Information

Note on the required fields above: this report is about Cowork in the Claude desktop app and the Claude iOS app, not the Claude Code CLI, so "Claude Code Version", "Platform" and "Terminal/Shell" do not really apply. They were left at their defaults because the form requires them.

Visibility matrix for the same task:

| Surface | Recents | Project view |
|---|---|---|
| macOS desktop app | shown | shown |
| iOS app | shown | not shown |
| Web (claude.ai) via session URL | opens fine | not checked |

Relevant documentation: "Claude Cowork and chat are one Claude" states that quick questions and longer tasks live together in Recents, and that a task you start at your desk shows up in Claude Mobile too, so you can see how it is going, answer questions from Claude, and redirect the work from anywhere.

"Use Claude Cowork on web, desktop, and mobile" states that sessions and files live with your Claude account and go where you go, on any device.
https://support.claude.com/en/articles/15520349-use-claude-cowork-on-web-desktop-and-mobile

Since Recents on iOS does show the task, the data clearly reaches the device. The gap appears to be limited to how the iOS Project view builds its list.
