Problem Statement

The docs recommend running /clear between tasks to keep context small and reduce token usage. When I do, the entire conversation disappears from the terminal. I often still want to see what was just done — a file path, a decision, a command — while starting the next task. Wiping the screen also makes it feel like /clear has destroyed the work, which discourages people from using it, even though it's one of the main cost-saving habits.

Proposed Solution

On /clear, keep the previous conversation in the terminal scrollback but render it greyed out or dimmed, with a clear separator line such as "context cleared, text above is not sent to the model ". New turns appear below in normal color.
