Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

In Claude Desktop's Cowork Projects view, unsent composer text appears to be shared across different projects or new-project dialogs instead of being scoped to the active project.

For example, if I type a prompt in Project A but do not send it, then switch to Project B, the same unsent prompt is displayed in Project B's composer. If I delete the draft in Project B, it is also deleted from Project A.

This suggests that the composer draft state is stored globally, or is keyed incorrectly, rather than being isolated per project/session.

What Should Happen?

Each project or conversation should have its own independent composer draft.

  • Switching from Project A to Project B must not show Project A's unsent prompt in Project B.
  • Deleting or editing the draft in Project B must not modify Project A's draft.
  • If drafts are preserved across project switches, they should be restored only for the correct project.
  • If a new project should always start with an empty composer, it should not inherit text from another project.

Error Messages/Logs

No error message is displayed.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Desktop and go to the Cowork Projects view.
  2. Open or create Project A.
  3. Type a distinctive prompt into the composer, for example:

DRAFT-FOR-PROJECT-A

  1. Do not send the prompt.
  2. Switch to Project B, or open another new-project dialog.
  3. Observe that the composer in Project B contains the draft from Project A.
  4. Delete the draft in Project B.
  5. Return to Project A.
  6. Observe that the draft in Project A has also been deleted.
