Problem Statement

Non-technical stakeholders and developers monitoring agent activity in VS Code find the chat panel cluttered. Technical labels (e.g. Bash) obscure the high-level functional intent, making progress tracking difficult.

Detailed Feature Request

1. Default Collapsed Traces

  • Collapse IN and OUT execution blocks by default to keep the chat history focused on intent for each bash.

2. Improved Visual Hierarchy

  • Highlight Functional Intent: Emphasize human-readable descriptions (e.g. "Inspect the failing search assertion") in a bold highlight color (#e5c07b).
  • Dim Technical Labels: Subdue utility badges like Bash so they do not draw immediate visual focus.

3. Hover-to-Inspect Command Details

  • Hide the underlying shell input line during normal reading, still having it as optionally uncollapsible.
  • Show the IN bash command dynamically via an inline expansion or tooltip when hovering over the action description.
