[BUG] Cancelling image Read operation with ESC leaves conversation in broken state

What's Wrong?

• Steps to reproduce:

a. Start reading an image file with Read tool
b. Press ESC to cancel the operation
c. Try to send any text message
d. Observe: All subsequent messages fail with "Could not process image" error

• Expected: Cancellation should cleanly abort without affecting future messages
• Actual: Broken image data persists and breaks all subsequent messages
