Desktop app: "Group by project" sidebar rows cannot be archived or hidden
Summary
In the Claude desktop app (Code tab), with the sidebar set to "Group by project",
each project folder appears as a collapsible row. There is no way to archive,
hide, or dismiss a row. The only way to make it disappear is to archive or
delete every session under it one by one.
Expected
A project row should offer "Archive project" (or "Hide from sidebar"), which
archives its sessions in one action or simply hides the row, without touching
the folder on disk.
Actual
Right-click / hover on the row exposes only "new session in this folder".
Rows for projects I no longer work on (dozens of old sessions each) stay in the
sidebar indefinitely.
Workaround
Switch to "Custom groups" and file sessions manually, or archive sessions one
at a time. Neither scales for a project with 40+ sessions.
Environment
- Claude desktop app, Code tab, macOS (Darwin 25.2.0)
- Sidebar: Group by project, status filter Active
