Improve Claude Code documentation accessibility in Claude's context

Resolved 💬 6 comments Opened Oct 10, 2025 by wtaysom Closed Jan 8, 2026

When users ask questions about Claude Code features (e.g., "how do I check on background tasks?"), Claude should be able to proactively reference built-in commands like /bashes without requiring the user to discover them independently.

Current behavior:
When asked how to check background tasks, Claude may suggest using BashOutput tool or other workarounds, but doesn't mention the /bashes slash command that's built into Claude Code.

Desired behavior:
Claude should be able to reference relevant Claude Code documentation and built-in commands when answering questions about Claude Code functionality.

Suggested solution:
Either:

  1. Pre-load relevant Claude Code documentation into Claude's context, OR
  2. Add system reminders that prompt Claude to check the documentation at https://docs.claude.com when users ask about Claude Code features

This would make the experience more seamless and help users discover the full capabilities of Claude Code.
