Web sessions can't be opened in the macOS desktop app (teleport is CLI-only)

Summary

A Claude Code session started on the web (claude.ai/code) can be pulled into a local terminal with claude --teleport <session-id>, but there is no way to open or continue that same session in the Claude macOS desktop app.

Current behaviour (per the docs)

| Direction | Supported |
|---|---|
| Web -> terminal CLI | yes (--teleport) |
| Web -> desktop app | no |
| Desktop app -> web | yes ("Continue in -> Claude Code on the Web") |
| Terminal CLI -> web | yes (--cloud, new session) |

The desktop app's "Continue in" menu only pushes a local session out to the web. The web session menu offers "Open in -> Terminal" but no "Open in -> Desktop".

Expected

"Open in -> Desktop app" on a web session (or a way to accept a teleport from the desktop app), carrying the conversation history and checking out the pushed branch, the same way --teleport does for the terminal.

Why it matters

The desktop app is where I normally work. Web sessions are useful for kicking work off, but finishing it means either staying in the browser or dropping to a terminal, losing the desktop app's UI. Since --teleport already exists for the CLI, the missing edge feels like a gap rather than a design choice.

Environment

  • Session started on claude.ai/code (remote cloud session)
  • Claude desktop app for macOS
