[BUG] Cannot type "@"
Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened May 1, 2025 by torquan Closed May 1, 2025
Environment
- Platform (select one):
- [x ] Anthropic API
- [ ] AWS Bedrock
- [ ] Google Vertex AI
- [ ] Other: <!-- specify -->
- Claude CLI version: 0.2.94 (Claude Code)
- Operating System: Version 15.3.1 (24D70)
- Terminal: Warp (https://www.warp.dev/)
Bug Description
I cannot enter the symbol "@" (or "~", potentially others) when using Claude Code.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Claude Code in Warp
- Attempt to enter "@" by using the keyboard.
Expected Behavior
@ appears
Actual Behavior
@ does not appear
Additional Context
- I'm able to enter @ in Warp outside of Claude Code
- I'm able to enter @ in Claude Code using the default macOS Terminal
Given the above, I'm not sure if this is an issue with Warp or Claude Code. Please advise, if I should instead file a bug report with Warp.
- The issue appears using the German keyboard layout (@ = option + L). Using a US keyboard layout (@ = Shift + 2), I'm able to enter the symbol.
- I'm able to copy + paste the symbol into Claude Code.
- Being able to conveniently type "@" is important to use the (new) feature of tagging files into context.
