[BUG] Cannot type "@"

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened May 1, 2025 by torquan Closed May 1, 2025

Environment

  • Platform (select one):
  • [x ] Anthropic API
  • [ ] AWS Bedrock
  • [ ] Google Vertex AI
  • [ ] Other: <!-- specify -->
  • Claude CLI version: 0.2.94 (Claude Code)
  • Operating System: Version 15.3.1 (24D70)
  • Terminal: Warp (https://www.warp.dev/)

Bug Description

I cannot enter the symbol "@" (or "~", potentially others) when using Claude Code.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code in Warp
  2. Attempt to enter "@" by using the keyboard.

Expected Behavior

@ appears

Actual Behavior

@ does not appear

Additional Context

  • I'm able to enter @ in Warp outside of Claude Code
  • I'm able to enter @ in Claude Code using the default macOS Terminal

Given the above, I'm not sure if this is an issue with Warp or Claude Code. Please advise, if I should instead file a bug report with Warp.

  • The issue appears using the German keyboard layout (@ = option + L). Using a US keyboard layout (@ = Shift + 2), I'm able to enter the symbol.
  • I'm able to copy + paste the symbol into Claude Code.
  • Being able to conveniently type "@" is important to use the (new) feature of tagging files into context.
