[BUG] In Claude Code Desktop the messages I type

Resolved 💬 4 comments Opened Mar 27, 2026 by AlisonFrench Closed Apr 27, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When I type messages in the Code chat they appear on the screen temporarily and then disappear when Code responds. All the context and messages I've added are no longer visible and it makes it exceedingly difficult to understand what is happening and what message Code is responding to.

What Should Happen?

I should be able to see the messages in the entire desktop code thread, just like it's handled in Chat and CoWork. Also, when responding to the chat it should clarify what chat it's responding to because there isn't queuing like there is in CoWork.
