Additional data point — Windows, Claude Desktop 1.44121.2.0.

Same symptom: `spawn ENAMETOOLONG` immediately on sending a message. What makes this report different is that the "oversized config" explanation is ruled out by measurement.

I hit this in August 2026 and it *was* config-related then: 168 enabled plugins produced an over-long command line. Reducing `enabledPlugins` to 2 fixed it. The error has now returned on a demonstrably minimal config:

Nothing is within an order of magnitude of the 32,767-character `CreateProcess` command-line / environment-block limit. Whatever argument or path overflows is therefore constructed by the app itself, not inherited from user configuration.

Secondary observation that made this hard to diagnose: `%APPDATA%\Claude\logs` stopped being written on 2026-08-21 while the app continued running daily. There is no local log evidence of the failing spawn at all. If logging is supposed to be active, that looks like a separate bug — and it removes the only user-side path to identifying the offending command.
