I can confirm, using PowerShell 7.5.4, with last update claude code is a disaster, incredibly slow. Constant hangings, not registering shift + tab while generating.

Same here. Even updated to preview 7.6.0 powershell and reinstalled completely, deleted all .claude folders, all settings, all history... Still nightmare slow and its not the model, its the client that freezes...
Likely related to bun memory issues as always because closing and running a fresh chat gives you 5-10 minutes of normal speed.

@gelsas you need to replace the claude.exe with the 2.0.49 version and disable the auto-update in your claude settings file :

Put it in : C:\Users\<USER>\.local\bin\

@gelsas i find it from another GitHub user on another issue here. I think he made a backup of the version by himself cause I don't find any public versions repository for Claude Code.

For some reason my Claude keeps updating to the latest version this is my settings.json

I've been struggling with slowness on Windows all morning. After doing a search, I came across this thread. There is a definite issue with 2.0.50 on Windows 11/PowerShell.

Sadly, I am on 2.0.54 and still/yet it is so damn slow. Whereas via API, it is pretty fast. Both sonnet 4.5 and opus 4.5. I am doubting my active max plan subscription now.
