Bug Description
Sometimes, when i use /compact, it returns a error saying that the context is too long, but when i close de claude and reopen the same chat, it works fine in the same session with the same context without change.

- Terminal: vscode

yeah same. I've been having issue since beginning of sept or so.
On Mac and Ubuntu, using terminal and claude code cursor (new plugin & old terminal version) on both.
Only workaround is restarting claude, then compact works.
On Cursor using new plugin this is even more tedious compared to terminal
