Mobile app: connection drops during long parallel tool-use bursts (first occurrence since recent app update)

Description

Mobile Claude Code connection dropped during a long, tool-heavy session — the first drop since updating the app about a week ago. Normally the connection survives WiFi/mobile-data handover fine all day (commute, office WiFi swaps); this is the first loss since that update, and it stayed live for the rest of the day afterwards.

What was happening at the time

The session was midway through a long-running knowledge-graph build: 11 subagents dispatched in parallel for semantic extraction (~2.4M tokens total), with long stretches of no assistant output while chunks processed and merged.

Suspected correlation

  • App update installed ~1 week prior
  • First connection drop since that update
  • Coincided with the heaviest sustained parallel tool-use burst of the session (long silent gaps between visible output)
  • No unusual network conditions at the time — not a WiFi/mobile-data handover

Environment

  • Claude Code mobile app (updated ~1 week before the incident)
  • Session used the Agent tool to dispatch 11 parallel subagents

Expected behaviour

The connection should survive a long quiet period during active tool use, the same way it has survived normal network handovers all day, every day, prior to the update.
