[BUG] stuck in "Edit automatically"

What's Wrong?

Using claude code in visual studio. Previous version I could shift-tab to swtich mode and it was responsive. New version does not respond at times for a minute.

also, new version lost /status and /help

the small input box is also fustrating, why not allow the full width to be used like before.
this new UI sucks

What Should Happen?

shift-tab should always response quickly, especialy when claude-code is making changes to a bunch of files.
