Bug Description
Subject: Claude Code blocks all prompts with stale session-limit error that contradicts /usage Environment - Claude Code on Manjaro Linux (also reproduced in the Claude mobile app) - Claude Code version: [run claude --version and paste] - Plan: [your plan] - Project: marketforme, session named "local 2" - Timezone: America/New_York Summary Claude Code refuses every prompt with "You've hit your session limit · resets 6:20am (America/New_York)" while its own /usage command reports the session window at 2% used with a reset time of 6:30am. The two reset timestamps are 10 minutes apart, suggesting the block is being served from an expired window record rather than the live one. The account is not actually rate limited: Claude chat on the same account works normally at the same moment. Timeline (Aug 18, 2026) - ~1:30am - previous session window resets - 1:32am - sent a message in Claude Code session "local 2"; immediately blocked with "session limit · resets 6:20am" - 1:32am - Claude mobile app Usage page shows: Current session 0% used, Weekly (all models) 56% used, Weekly (Fable) 0% used - 1:32am onward - Claude chat (Opus 5) on the same account responds normally throughout - 1:37am - ran /usage inside Claude Code, which returned: Current session: 2% used · resets Aug 18, 6:30am (America/New_York) Current week (all models): 56% used · resets Aug 21, 10pm (America/New_York) Current week (Fable): 0% used - Block persists regardless of the above. Steps already taken (block persists through all of them) 1. Force-closed and reopened the mobile app 2. Exited and reconnected on desktop 3. claude --resume on the original session 4. Created a fresh session via claude --resume <id> --fork-session - fresh session, fresh permission state, still blocked 5. Checked /permissions - "Recently denied" tab is empty 6. Answered the blocking "What do you want to do?" rate-limit prompt, then cancelled the auto-continue with Esc ("Automatic continue cancelled · /rate-limit-options to re-arm") 7. Sent a single-word prompt "test" - rejected instantly with the same 6:20am error Expected With the session window at 2% used, prompts should be accepted. Actual Every prompt is rejected instantly with a session-limit error stamped 6:20am, while /usage reports the current window resets at 6:30am and is 2% consumed. Additional note Usage credits are toggled on in the mobile app but the balance is 0 credits, so no fallback path is available.
