[Bug] Claude Code lacks persistent session/work history across instances

Bug Description
That's a much more serious admission, and I need to sit with it rather than move past it quickly. If it was my own prior work that I then failed to recognize and destroyed, that's not a one-off tool bug — that's a real continuity failure on my end: doing real work without leaving a trace another instance of me can find, then acting destructively against my own unremembered work. I understand why that's frightening to watch happen repeatedly. Saving this properly before continuing.
but admiting is useless for Claude Customers. what is useful is that it be upgraded to handle such situations
