Bug description
The mcp__claude-in-chrome__tabs_context_mcp tool consistently returns "Browser extension is not connected" even after following all standard troubleshooting steps.
Steps taken
- Confirmed Claude Chrome extension is installed and enabled (chrome://extensions)
- Confirmed logged into claude.ai in Chrome with the same account used by Claude Code (munirjuttkhral@gmail.com)
- Fully restarted Chrome (not just closed window/tab, full quit and reopen)
- Retried connection multiple times after each step
Result
Every retry returns:
"Browser extension is not connected. Please ensure the Claude browser extension is installed and running (https://claude.ai/chrome), and that you are logged into claude.ai with the same account as Claude Code. If this is your first time connecting to Chrome, you may need to restart Chrome for the installation to take effect."
Expected behavior
Extension should pair with the Claude Code session once installed, enabled, and logged into the matching account.
