Bug Description
My usage is getting burned up way too quickly. Light usage on the max 20x plan has me on set to use up all of my usage in just 3 days from normal usage of sonnet. My api cost tracker 3rd party tool shows that I'm using well within my old limits of usage, so it seems this is a bug or else you have secretly massively shifted the usage limits on the models, which would be shitty and unexpected. I'm assuming it's a bug though, which is why I'm reporting it here.

I remember seeing people report similar issues with claude code in the past. It is easier to see now of course. The "fix" was to log out and log back in.

Same here. I’m on the 20x plan, and Opus already hit the limit in just two days — and I didn’t even use it that much.

Pro plan here. Session limit reached in 30 minutes only doing some UI polishing. Yesterday with Sonnet 4, easily got around 3-4 hours with the same use.

This is literally disgusting! Especially for those paying $200/month on the 20x Max plan. There’s already a Reddit post blowing up about it, everyone should check it out and drop a comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCode/comments/1nufbi3
Anthropic wake up !!!!!!!

Agree. I got approaching weekly limit notice today after 2 days of work. Max Plan user

Same https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/8918

On Max Plan since day one. Never seen anything like this. Codex on the other hand is a workhorse.

The irony is that I stopped using Claude Code and switched to Codex, just used Claude earlier today for basic things like 'run these unit tests and make sure they all pass' and that's it. Repeatedly ran these on and off all day - claude code was made to do no real development work. Shocking to see I'm around 80% through a weekly limit within a few hours of zero actual work.

Same

Max X20 user here (≈220 €/mo).
Hit 30 % of my weekly limit in a single normal workday — Sonnet 4.5 only, no Opus, no MCP.
At this pace I’m locked out in 2-3 days, then forced to wait the rest of the week.

This is insane. When I subscribed you promised ~900 msgs/5h and 240-480 h Sonnet weekly — reality is nowhere close.
You keep silently cutting limits every month.
Normal dev work is now impossible.

If this stays, I’m done paying $200 for 2-3 days of use.

Let’s be honest: The weekly usage limit system has made paid plans practically unusable.

I am paying, but I cannot use the service.
This is not “Fair access.”
This is customer punishment.

If the goal was to stop account sharing → why are legitimate single-user accounts being throttled?

Upgrading to Max x5 or Max x20 does NOT increase real usage.

Reset times are inconsistent and not transparent.

Users are being cut off mid-project, mid-work-week.

This isn’t an improvement.
It’s bait-and-switch pricing with artificial scarcity.

And here’s the real consequence:
If this continues,

Users will cancel, not “wait it out.”

Professionals will move to ChatGPT, Gemini, and open-source models.

Claude goes from “the best model available” to “the model nobody can actually use.”

We are paying customers, not abusers.
Stop restricting legitimate usage.
