Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

  • I searched existing issues and did not find this one.
  • This is a single bug report.
  • I am unable to reach human support: the Fin bot at support.claude.com and the in-app "Get help" messenger both decline to escalate or create a ticket, including via the "I can't login" intake path and after explicitly requesting "Wait for the team." There is no email address that reaches a person. This issue is the only remaining channel.
  • Plan: Claude Pro (active, paid)
  • Account email: bn2k6rx945@privaterelay.appleid.com
  • Device: iPhone 17 pro max, iOS 27
  • I can verify ownership via my active Claude mobile app session.

I can sign in and use Claude normally in the iOS mobile app. I cannot sign in to claude.ai in any web browser, on any device or network. When I enter my account email on the web login screen, the flow does not authenticate my browser — instead it proceeds as though the address has no account attached and offers to create a new one.

The email address is correct and confirmed: it is the address I created the account with, and the address my Pro subscription receipts are sent to. It is the same address my working mobile session is authenticated under.

I never receive a verification code — only a sign-in link. On iOS, tapping that link is captured by the Claude app via Universal Links, so the requesting browser never completes authentication.

  1. Open claude.ai in a browser and enter the account email.
  2. Request the sign-in email.
  3. Open the email and click or paste the sign-in link.
  4. Result: browser is not authenticated. offers to create a new account

The browser that requested the link is authenticated, or a verification code is issued that can be entered on that browser.

  • Wrong email address — confirmed against subscription receipts and the working mobile session.
  • Browser state — tried multiple browsers, multiple incognito/private windows, cleared cache and cookies.
  • Device-specific issue — tried multiple devices, including a public library desktop computer.
  • Network-specific issue — tried multiple networks, including the library's.
  • Universal Link interception — attempted to copy the raw URL and paste it into the address bar rather than tapping it; also attempted opening webmail in the same browser that requested the link.
  • Desktop mode — enabled Request Desktop Website for all sites in Safari settings.
  • Cross-device code flow — aware that requesting on one device and clicking on another produces a code for the original device; no code is ever issued.

I am a paying Pro subscriber with no web access to the product. My only access is a persisted mobile app session. If that session ever expires or is invalidated, I will be locked out of a paid account entirely, with no support channel available to recover it.

Please have someone check the authentication and email-delivery state for my account address, and confirm whether the address is in an inconsistent state on the web login path.
