Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When typing freeform input in the Claude Code terminal, a numbered share-transcript prompt appeared on screen. My keypress (11, intended as a response to the assistant's question) was captured by the prompt and interpreted as "Yes, share transcript." A green confirmation appeared stating the share completed when I looked up to proofread my response. There is no undo, no grace period, and no way to retract the share from within the app.

To reproduce

  1. Be mid-conversation with active freeform typing
  2. Share prompt appears as a numbered list (1/2/3)
  3. Type any numbers that happen to match a prompt option
  4. Share fires

Expected behavior

A share action should require an unambiguous, dedicated confirmation that cannot be accidentally triggered by freeform typing, e.g. requiring the user to type "yes" or click a button, not press a number that could be intended for anything else.

Actual behavior

Share fires immediately on keypress. No undo. No in-app way to find or revoke the shared link after the fact.

Impact

Private session data including personal system configurations and file paths was published without consent. This is a serious privacy issue and a dealbreaker for continued use of the service for users who handle any sensitive information in their sessions.

What Should Happen?

A share action should require an unambiguous, dedicated confirmation that cannot be accidentally triggered by freeform typing, e.g. requiring the user to type "yes" or click a button, not press a number that could be intended for anything else.
