Problem Statement
Title: Add keyboard preference for Enter key behavior (newline vs send)
Description:
Claude Desktop currently hardcodes Enter to send and Shift+Enter to newline. VS Code and Slack both offer user preferences to flip this behavior. Many users accidentally send incomplete messages when hitting Enter for a line break.
Request: Add a toggle in Settings → General (or Chat) to let users choose:
• Enter sends, Shift+Enter newlines (current)
• Enter newlines, Shift+Enter sends (Slack-style)
This would reduce accidental sends and bring parity with industry-standard chat apps.

Use Case Example
I hit enter to post code or a summary or some block of info below but it sends the darn pretext message before I can provide the important parts due to the idiotic choice to not put into settings a setting that allowed ENTER or SEND to be adding a new line rather than sending the whole message.

Btw, enter here works perfectly and jumps to the next line like it should, why then would you guys not have that on the desktop version. It’s even how it works on the app version for Pete’s sake!
