Description:
Selecting Fable 5 in the /model picker in Claude Code shows the following prompt, which incorrectly implies Fable 5 is not covered by my plan:

Switch to Fable 5?
Fable 5 runs on usage credits, purchased separately from your plan.
You don't have usage credits yet.

  1. Set up usage credits on claude.ai

❯ 2. No, keep my current model

Expected behavior:
I am on the Claude Max plan, which includes F usage limits (confirmed via the in-app usagepanel at Settings → Usage, which shows separate weekly-limit tracking for Fable 5). The model picker should let me
switch to Fable 5 without prompting me to purts.

Actual behavior:
The picker blocks the switch and suggests setting up paid usage credits, which is misleading — Max plan users already
have entitlement to Fable 5.

Environment:

  • Plan: Claude Max
  • Client: Claude Code CLI

Additional notes:
This message appears to be stale/incorrect copy in the model picker — the authoritative usage panel elsewhere in the app already shows Fable 5 usage against the Montradicting this prompt.
