Feature request
When Dispatch spawns a Claude Code session from the mobile app, there is currently no way from the phone to:
- Choose the working directory for the new session — it would be great to pick from a list of preset/recent folders (or type a path) when sending the task.
- Choose the permission mode — Dispatch-spawned sessions start in Manual mode and ignore
permissions.defaultMode(see #39889), and the mobile app has no mode selector. Being able to select Auto mode (or at least have the session respect the configured default) would make phone-initiated sessions actually usable without a barrage of approval prompts that must be tapped through one by one.
Why
The main value of Dispatch is starting work while away from the machine. Right now the practical workaround is parking pre-opened Auto-mode sessions on the desktop before leaving, which defeats much of Dispatch's purpose. A "new session" flow on mobile with folder presets + mode selection would close that gap.
Environment
- Claude Desktop app 1.24012.1 (macOS), Claude Code 2.1.217
- Mobile: Claude iOS app paired via Dispatch/Cowork
