Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude Code blocked continued use of Fable 5 mid-session, showing a dialog that the "usage credits" balance is €0.01 and usage credits are turned off — while the account's own Usage settings page in claude.ai shows the Fable weekly limit only 18% used, with an active promotional increase still in effect. These two indicators contradict each other.

What Should Happen?

Expected behavior

If the weekly Fable limit is at 18% usage with a +50% promotional increase active, Claude Code should not gate the session behind an unrelated "usage credits: €0.01, turned off" message without explaining how that balance relates to the weekly quota still showing headroom.

Error Messages/Logs

Actual behavior

Session is blocked with a credits-exhausted message that appears inconsistent with the weekly limit shown in the account dashboard, forcing a model downgrade (Sonnet 5) to continue.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In Claude Code, have Fable 5 active as the model.
  2. Continue sending messages in an ongoing session.
  3. Claude Code interrupts with:

Fable 5 now uses usage credits — you have €0.01 in credits. Usage credits are turned off. Re-enable to use Fable 5.
with options: (1) Set up usage credits on claude.ai, (2) Switch to Sonnet 5 and continue.

  1. At the same time, in claude.ai → Settings → Usage (Límites de uso del plan, Pro):
  • Current session: 4% used (resets in 4h32m)
  • All models (weekly): 13% used (resets Sun 2:00 a.m.)
  • Fable (weekly): 18% used (resets Sun 2:00 a.m.)
  • Banner: "Your limits are temporarily increased — Claude Code weekly limit +50% until Aug 19, Cowork limit +100% until Aug 5."
